The truth of the matter is that for a while, the Disney Park has not always been the most joyous of places for both vegans and vegetarians. However, the Anaheim, CA theme park, together with its counterpart Disney California Adventure, has sought to make steady but significant steps towards resolving this issue.

Because of their efforts, vegans and vegetarians can now rest assured that they will find a meal that is not only delicious, but also meat-free during their visit to Disneyland California.

1. Disneyland: Main Street U.S.A

Carnation Café

At this fine Restaurant, vegan guests can enjoy Fruit Parfait, Spinach and Egg White Frittata, Huevos Rancheros, House Salad with your own choice of salad dressing, and the Chef’s Vegan burger. However, the burger is not vegan when you include the chipotle-mayo, so make sure to ask them to leave it out.

Jolly Holiday Bakery Cafe

For the vegetarians, this wonderful café is the only dining place at the resort where you can get a Soy Latte made from soymilk. They also offer breads and muffins, a Caprese sandwich made of basil, tomatoes, lettuce, mozzarella, and vinaigrette spread beautifully on toasted focaccia.

For the vegans, there is the grilled vegetable and whole grain salad consisting of seasonal veggies and mixed greens with spelt, barley, and basil vinaigrette.

Plaza Inn

At this restaurant, vegetarians can enjoy garden vegetable salad cups consisting of tomatoes, carrots, lettuces, and your choice of dressing. However, most people often consider these salad cups as healthy snacks, which is a good thing.

2. Disney California Adventure

Paradise Garden Grill

Both vegans and vegetarians can head over to this joint for some of the best tofu skewer with chimchurri, which is vegan, and Moroccan chili sauce. There is also the tzatziki, which is so tasty.

Carthay Circle

Even though it came onto the scene just recently, the Carthay Circle Restaurant has a lot to offer to both vegans and vegetarians. For the vegetarians, there is the grilled eggplant sandwich that is sautéed with artichokes, garlic, tomato, and deliciously melted reserve cheeses on some sweet rustic country bread. There is also the squash ravioli, which is quite popular among patrons.

For the vegans, there is vegan pasta or the vegan tower that features seasonal produce nicely customized for each guest.

Award Wieners

This popular quick-service restaurant offers a delicious vegetarian Portobello mushroom, and since kids typically love the wide range of hot dogs served here, you can have your vegetarian meal whilst they enjoy theirs, eliminating the need of moving from one restaurant to the other.

Bengal BBQ

The Bengal BBQ serves vegan vegetable skewers, cheese-filled pretzels, and yogurt parfait. However, they do also grill meat in case you have someone in your group who is not vegan or vegetarian.

River Belle Terrace

At this restaurant, vegetarians can enjoy vegetable Po’ Boy with a nice side dish of lentil salad that consists of baked beans. There is also the peanut butter and jelly sandwich, together with a fresh fruit plate for those who want breakfast.

As one can clearly see, Disneyland CA has done its utmost to cater to the needs and wants of its vegan and vegetarian visitors. Check back for an updated list whenever Disneyland adds more options in the park.
